Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time
Clocks Fall Back
Daylight Saving Time ends on the first Sunday in November when clocks are set back one hour at 2 a.m. local time which becomes 1a.m local Standard Time.
In the US., 2 a.m. was selected as the changeover time because it minimized disruption: most people at home and fewer transportation issues. This allows the entire continental U.S. to switch by daybreak before the early workday.
Interestingly, a law in 2007 was enacted to extend daylight saving time to the first Sunday in November to allow trick-or-treaters more light and safety from traffic accidents.
